Your Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant
SEN Teaching Assistants provide individualised support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Qualifications & Requirements
While formal qualifications are not always essential, schools prefer candidates with:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or willingness to train)
Experience working with children with additional needs
An Enhanced DBS Check (we can assist with this!)
Experience working with children with additional needs
Training in SEN-specific strategies (e.g., Makaton, PECS, Team Teach) – Desirable but not required
